My name is John Michael Kelly, but you can call me Mike. I'm a fourth-generation Central Floridian, raised in this community.
I attended Boone High School and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2019.
After law school, I returned to Central Florida to advocate for the people of my community. I’ve worked in both the private and public sectors, representing local governments, property owners, and Florida homeowners in their disputes with insurance carriers. I’ve served as a managing attorney for one of the state’s largest first-party property plaintiff firms.
In addition to my work on behalf of property owners in insurance disputes, I’m also a skilled land use practitioner. I have experience in both the transactional and adversarial aspects of land use and local government law. I currently serve as City Attorney for a City in Volusia County.

Kayla Turbin is the driving force behind PLG’s mission. As the primary point of contact for clients and contractors, she combines approachability with fierce advocacy, ensuring every case gets the attention it deserves.
But don’t mistake her kindness for weakness. Kayla is a relentless advocate, fighting to ensure her clients get the fair outcomes they deserve.
Beyond client relations, Kayla is the creative engine behind PLG’s marketing efforts, leading innovative strategies that amplify the firm’s values and impact. Her ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships makes her an invaluable asset to the team.
A proud Central Florida native, Kayla grew up in Winter Park and leverages her deep local network to support PLG’s mission. Known as the team’s biggest personality, she brings energy, enthusiasm, and an unstoppable drive to everything she does.
Outside of work, Kayla is a competitive powerlifter, specializing in bench press. She’s often called the “tiny girl who can move mountains” – a fitting description of the determination and work ethic she brings to PLG.
